Apex Trader Funding’s Six-Payout Rule Explained: What Happens After Payout No. 6
Apex Performance Accounts now have a maximum six-payout cycle. Here’s how the limit works, how payout caps increase by account size, and what happens after the sixth approved payout.
Published

Apex Trader Funding’s current Performance Account structure places a maximum of six approved payouts on each Performance Account.
The rule applies to both End-of-Day and Intraday Trailing Drawdown Performance Accounts. After the sixth approved payout, Apex says the account’s payout cycle is complete and the Performance Account is closed. Traders who want another Performance Account must qualify again through a new evaluation.
Payout eligibility comes first
Before reaching the six-payout limit, traders still have to satisfy Apex’s standard payout requirements.
Both current Performance Account types require:
- at least five qualifying trading days,
- a $500 minimum payout request,
- compliance with the 50% consistency rule,
- and maintenance of the required Safety Net balance.
Apex defines the Safety Net as the account’s drawdown limit plus $100. Only profit above that threshold is available for payout.
The 50% consistency rule
Apex requires that no single profitable trading day represent 50% or more of total profit earned since the previous approved payout.
If one day is too large relative to total profit, the account remains active, but the trader must continue trading until the percentage falls below the payout threshold.
EOD payout caps
For End-of-Day Performance Accounts, the maximum payout per request increases across the six-payout sequence for most account sizes.
| Payout | $25K | $50K | $100K | $150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $1000 | $1500 | $2000 | $2500 |
| 2 | $1000 | $1500 | $2500 | $3000 |
| 3 | $1000 | $2000 | $2500 | $3000 |
| 4 | $1000 | $2500 | $3000 | $3000 |
| 5 | $1000 | $2500 | $4000 | $4000 |
| 6 | $1000 | $3000 | $4000 | $4000 |
Intraday payout caps
Intraday Performance Accounts use a slightly different progression:
| Payout | $25K | $50K | $100K | $150K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $1000 | $1500 | $2000 | $2500 |
| 2 | $1000 | $2000 | $2500 | $3000 |
| 3 | $1000 | $2500 | $3000 | $3000 |
| 4 | $1000 | $2500 | $3000 | $4000 |
| 5 | $1000 | $3000 | $4000 | $4000 |
| 6 | $1000 | $3000 | $4000 | $5000 |
What happens after payout six?
There is no seventh payout on the same Performance Account.
Apex states that the account closes after completing the six-payout cycle. To continue through another Performance Account, the trader must qualify through another evaluation.
That makes the six-payout limit an important part of account economics. Traders evaluating Apex should consider not only the size of an individual payout, but the total payout cycle attached to each Performance Account.
